Professional Development

Goal Analysis:

I believe that my goals from before the course have been met. I wanted to become more comfortable using technology and explaining to others how it works. Because of my service learning project, I was able to communicate with a current teacher and demonstrate how she should use the technology resources that I created for her. I also wanted to have a better back-up plan in case my technology does not function. I now feel comfortable creating assessments and activities that can be used online as well as without technology. This is especially helpful if a student loses technology privileges, because I will still have resources to help that student learn. My final goal was to learn where to find new technologies and how to collaborate with other teachers. Due to my professional learning network of Twitter and the service learning project, I have been able to interact with other educators so we are able to learn from each other.

Future Plans:

Because I have met most of my goals, I am satisfied with my current knowledge of technology; however, I want to continue to learn about technologies so I can find new ways to help my students. I also would like to improve my confidence with coding because the hour of code was a fun experience for me. I feel much more confident with my ability to use technology to teach others, but with more experience I will only be better. I will try to use technology whenever I think it is effective, efficient, enhancing, or engaging, and I hope to continue to be a part of the technology learning community.
